Booking, cancellation and payment conditions
Part B (booking and cancellation conditions) and Part C (invoicing, payment and platform fee terms) of the CruiseTalentNetwork terms, version of 1 November 2026. Part A is the platform terms and conditions. These conditions apply to every confirmed booking and are part of every Entertainment Booking Agreement; the Booking Confirmation and these conditions prevail for the performance agreement.

Platform fees
Per confirmed booking, excluding VAT, set by CruiseTalentNetwork. A booking keeps the fees of the day it was made (Amsterdam time). A change applies only to bookings made from its start date and is announced in advance.
| Bookings made | Cruise company | Entertainer |
|---|---|---|
| Now | €20 | €20 |
When the entertainer cancels
Compensation payable to the cruise company, as a percentage of the full agreed performance fee, excluding VAT:
| Notice before the performance | Compensation |
|---|---|
| More than 30 calendar days | 0% |
| 30 to 15 calendar days | 25% |
| 14 to 8 calendar days | 50% |
| 7 calendar days or fewer, including the performance day | 100% |
The entertainer notifies the cruise company as soon as possible in writing. Where reasonably possible, the entertainer may propose a suitably qualified replacement; the cruise company may approve or reject it, acting reasonably. If approved in writing and the booking proceeds with the replacement on agreed terms, this is not a cancellation.
Reasons on the platform
When the cruise company cancels
Compensation payable to the entertainer, as a percentage of the full agreed performance fee, excluding VAT:
| Notice before the performance | Compensation |
|---|---|
| More than 30 calendar days | 0% |
| 30 to 15 calendar days | 50% |
| 14 to 8 calendar days | 75% |
| 7 calendar days or fewer, including the performance day | 100% |
Compensation is payable regardless of the cruise company's ordinary commercial or operational reason. Insufficient passenger numbers, a change in programming, a change in commercial plans or an internal business decision do not constitute force majeure.
Reasons on the platform
Part B – Booking and cancellation conditions
These conditions govern the direct performance agreement between the entertainer and the cruise company. Both parties can review them before confirming a booking. Article numbers follow the CruiseTalentNetwork terms.
14. Performance agreement and scope
The entertainer and the cruise company contract directly with each other. The booking confirmation records the agreed service, date, time, venue or vessel, duration, performance fee and any additional arrangements. The parties check the booking confirmation promptly. Any amendment to the date, time, location, performance duration, scope or fee requires the written agreement of both parties, through the platform.
15. Entertainer obligations
The entertainer provides the agreed performance professionally, at the agreed time and place, and arrives in sufficient time for agreed set-up and sound checks. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the entertainer is responsible for their own instruments, equipment, materials, preparation, business registrations, permits, insurance and taxes. The entertainer complies with reasonable vessel access, security, health and safety requirements communicated in advance, provided these do not unlawfully alter the agreed service.
16. Cruise company obligations
The cruise company provides a reasonably suitable and safe performance area, access to the vessel and the facilities expressly agreed for the performance. It provides relevant information in good time, including the vessel, boarding location and time, itinerary where relevant, performance location, available technical facilities and applicable safety or access rules. It pays the agreed performance fee directly to the entertainer in accordance with Part C.
17. Cancellation by the entertainer
If the entertainer cancels a confirmed booking for a reason other than force majeure, the entertainer pays the cruise company cancellation compensation calculated as a percentage of the full agreed performance fee, excluding VAT: more than 30 calendar days 0% · 30 to 15 calendar days 25% · 14 to 8 calendar days 50% · 7 calendar days or fewer, including the performance day, 100%.
18. Cancellation by the cruise company
If the cruise company cancels a confirmed booking for a reason other than force majeure, the cruise company pays the entertainer cancellation compensation calculated as a percentage of the full agreed performance fee, excluding VAT: more than 30 calendar days 0% · 30 to 15 calendar days 50% · 14 to 8 calendar days 75% · 7 calendar days or fewer, including the performance day, 100%.
19. Calculation and notice of cancellation
The applicable period is determined by the number of full calendar days between the time the cancellation is recorded and the local calendar date of the scheduled performance; the local time at the performance location applies. The date and time recorded by the platform's booking system is the reference point; if the platform is unavailable, written notice sent to the other party determines the cancellation time. For a booking containing several separate performances (for example a weekly series), compensation is calculated separately for each cancelled performance unless the parties agree otherwise in writing. On the platform, the performance fee for this calculation is the agreed show fee (show type and encore); the travel amount of the docking place is an expense (article 23).
20. Force majeure
Neither party owes cancellation compensation where performance becomes impossible due to a substantiated event beyond the reasonable control of the affected party that could not reasonably have been prevented or overcome. Examples may include severe weather making navigation or performance unsafe or impossible; an unforeseen technical emergency preventing the vessel from sailing or safely hosting the performance; unexpected closure of a waterway, lock or port; government restrictions or legal prohibitions; sudden serious illness or accident preventing the entertainer from performing; war, terrorism or natural disaster.
The affected party notifies the other party as soon as reasonably possible, explains the event when cancelling on the platform, provides reasonable supporting evidence on request, and takes reasonable steps to mitigate the effects. Ordinary commercial or operational risks do not automatically constitute force majeure, including insufficient passenger numbers, a change in programming, ordinary staffing issues, a change in commercial plans or avoidable scheduling conflicts. The parties first consider whether the booking can reasonably be rescheduled; if rescheduling is not reasonably possible or not agreed, either party may terminate the affected booking without cancellation compensation. Reasonable, documented, pre-approved and non-recoverable expenses may be dealt with separately between the parties, provided there is no double recovery.
21. Rescheduling
A booking may be moved to another date by mutual written agreement: on the platform the cruise company proposes another docking day and time of the same ship and the entertainer accepts or declines. Where the same booking is rescheduled, the original platform fee remains payable and no additional platform fee is charged. If the parties do not agree to reschedule, the original cancellation provisions apply unless the cancellation is due to force majeure.
22. No-show and failure to provide the performance opportunity
If the entertainer fails to attend or perform without a valid reason and without prior agreement, this is treated as cancellation on the performance day. If the cruise company, without a valid reason, fails to provide the agreed access or performance opportunity so that the performance cannot take place, this is treated as cancellation by the cruise company on the performance day. A party may claim additional proven loss only where there is a legal basis to do so; there must be no double recovery for the same loss.
23. Travel and other expenses
An entertainer offers each show type at an all-in price per docking place: the show fee plus a travel amount for that port, which covers the travel to and from it. Travel, accommodation, catering, equipment hire and other additional expenses are payable only if agreed in writing in advance. When the ship has to take the entertainer on unexpectedly to another port, the entertainer may claim the extra travel back to the port of boarding with receipts, within 60 days after the show; it is payable only when the cruise company confirms it on the platform (the cruise company is reminded after 7 days; a claim is never confirmed automatically). On cancellation, reasonable, documented, pre-approved and non-refundable expenses may be reimbursed separately to the extent they are not already included in cancellation compensation and have not been reimbursed by insurance or another third party; the affected party takes reasonable steps to minimise such expenses.
24. Responsibility and insurance
Each party is responsible for its own contractual obligations and business activities. The entertainer is responsible for the professional delivery of the performance and for insurance appropriate to its business. The cruise company is responsible for vessel operations, the safety of the performance location and communicating relevant vessel safety requirements. Nothing in these conditions excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.
25. Governing law and disputes between the parties
The performance agreement is governed by Dutch law, subject to mandatory rules that apply under relevant international or national law. The parties first attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussions. To the extent legally permitted, disputes are submitted to the competent courts in the Netherlands at the place of the platform's registered office. The parties acknowledge that this choice may be subject to mandatory jurisdiction rules and may not be enforceable in every country.
Part C – Invoicing, payment and platform fee terms
26. Platform fee and invoicing
For each confirmed booking, the platform charges the entertainer €20 excluding VAT and separately charges the cruise company €20 excluding VAT (the fees of the day the booking is made, see the table above). The platform issues a separate invoice to each party, monthly. The applicable VAT treatment depends on the place-of-supply rules, the business status and location of the customer, and any applicable reverse-charge or exemption rules; the platform applies the tax treatment required by applicable law.
27. Refund of platform fees
For an ordinary cancellation by either party, both platform fees remain payable. Where a confirmed booking is finally cancelled because of a substantiated force majeure event under Part B, the platform refunds the full platform fee (plus any VAT charged) to each party; as platform fees are invoiced after the performance or the cancellation, they are then simply not charged, and any fee already invoiced is credited within 14 calendar days after it has reasonably been established that the booking has been finally cancelled due to force majeure. A mere rescheduling does not trigger a refund. If a booking failed to become validly confirmed due to an attributable platform error, the affected platform fee is refunded.
28. Performance invoice and third-party invoicing authorisation
The entertainer is the supplier of the performance and the cruise company is the customer. Under a separate written authorisation (the Invoicing authorisation that entertainers accept on the platform), the platform prepares and issues the performance invoices in the entertainer's name and on the entertainer's behalf, per ship and per month after the performances. Each invoice identifies the entertainer as supplier and the cruise company as customer and includes the information required by applicable invoicing rules. The platform's administrative role does not make it the supplier of the performance: the entertainer remains responsible for the correctness and tax treatment of the invoice, its accounting records and tax declarations, reviews invoices promptly and notifies the platform of any errors. The authorisation is limited to preparing and sending invoices for bookings made through the platform; it does not authorise the platform to change the performance fee, payment terms or other contractual terms.
29. Payment of the performance fee
Unless otherwise agreed in the booking confirmation, the cruise company pays the performance invoice directly to the entertainer within 14 calendar days of the invoice date. The platform does not receive, hold, safeguard or transfer the performance fee and is not responsible for payment default, insolvency or recovery of the debt; the entertainer pursues any unpaid performance fee directly against the cruise company. Where legally available, statutory commercial interest and recovery costs may be claimed by the creditor in accordance with applicable law. The platform sends one payment reminder 14 days after the due date.
30. Cancellation compensation and tax
Cancellation compensation is payable directly by the cancelling party to the party entitled to receive it; the platform does not collect or distribute it. Compensation owed by a cruise company to an entertainer is included in the entertainer's next performance invoice to the ship; compensation owed by an entertainer to a cruise company is recorded on the booking and settled directly between the parties. The parties are responsible for determining and documenting the applicable VAT and tax treatment of cancellation compensation, including whether it is outside the scope of VAT or subject to VAT in the relevant jurisdiction; the treatment must not be assumed to be identical in every country.
31. International currency and bank charges
The currency stated in the booking confirmation applies; if no currency is specified, amounts are payable in euros (EUR). Unless otherwise agreed, the paying party bears its own bank charges, transfer charges and currency conversion costs so that the recipient receives the invoiced amount in the agreed currency, subject to mandatory payment rules.
32. Platform fee payment term
Platform fee invoices are payable within 14 calendar days of the invoice date unless the invoice states a different legally permitted term. The platform fee is not deducted from the entertainer's performance fee, because the two payments are separate.
Worked examples
Booking made today (platform fees €20 cruise company, €20 entertainer, excl. VAT), show fee €780.
“More than 30 calendar days” means 31 days or more before the performance date. CruiseTalentNetwork calculates, records and shows the amounts, but is not a party to the agreement between the cruise company and the entertainer.
Onboard residential entertainers
A residency is a contract for a solo or duo act on board, an onboard residential entertainer, for 2, 3, 6 or 9 months, under its own Residency Agreement. Instead of a platform fee per booking, both sides pay a one-time connection fee, excl. VAT, invoiced after both have signed:
| Contract length | Cruise company | Entertainer |
|---|---|---|
| 2 or 3 months | €500 | €250 |
| 6 or 9 months | €900 | €500 |
- If the cruise company cancels before the first day on board, 50% of the connection fee is refunded to both sides.
- If the entertainer cancels or does not finish the residency, the connection fee is not refunded to either side; the entertainer settles the consequences with the cruise company.
- A residency that ends early is paid up to and including the last day on board, pro rata by day; the connection fee is not refunded.
